Te Pounga Marae, once deemed unsafe and recommended for demolition, has now been rebuilt with a new complex to cater for the demands of the community.
The marae is now a safe and healthy environment where the whanau and community can engage in activities that promote wairuatanga, manaakitanga, whakawhanaungatanga, awhi, tika, pono and aroha and to foster a community spirit that embraces the partnerships embodied in the Tiriti O Waitangi.
