Drawing on sector resources and research, these Good Practice Guidelines were developed in 2019 by the Centre for Social Impact for Rāta Foundation and Foundation North.
1 Youth Development
These good practice guidelines support the learning and development of community and non-profit organisations that reach and engage with young people.
2 Volunteering
These good practice guidelines support the learning and development of community and non-profit organisations engaged in and enabling volunteering.
3 Community-led Development
These good practice guidelines support communities to create and achieve locally owned visions and goals.
4 Older People
These good practice guidelines support the learning and development of community and non-profit organisations that provide services or activities for older adults, and that promote older adults’ inclusion in and contribution to community life.
5 Environment
These good practice guidelines support the learning and development of community and non-profit organisations that help to protect, conserve and care for the natural environment.
6 Disability
These good practice guidelines are for groups who work with and support people living with disabilities and their families/whānau.
7 Diversity
These good practice guidelines support community groups who seek to consider and develop their practice in relation to ‘diversity’ (in terms of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religious beliefs and cultural background).
