Foundation North latest initiative, G.I.F.T (Gulf Innovation Fund Together) has just launched its new website www.giftofthegulf.org.nz
The $5 million innovation fund, that aims to find solutions to complex environmental issues facing the Hauraki Gulf, was announced on 15th August 2016.
The new website aims to be an informative source for those interested in the Hauraki Gulf to stay up to date with the fund. It also will host a space for those wanting to share an innovative idea for a prototype.
For those who feel the G.I.F.T isn’t for them but are still interested in applying for grants in the environment sector can apply for funding in the Foundation North Places round.
An innovation lab was held on the 14th of September for individuals and groups who shared and developed their innovative responses.
“It’s a breakthrough fund that we’re really excited about,” Project Manager Kim Collins says.
“We want to engage a wide range of people who can make a difference to our region. We believe someone out there has a creative solution to improving the mauri of the Hauraki Gulf, and we’re very keen to work with them.”
