Supporting the Call for a Sustainable Economic Re-set

21 May 2020   /   News

Foundation North has added its signature to an open letter to politicians which is calling for a regenerative, equitable, and inclusive rebuild post COVID-19.

CEO Peter Tynan said “We have signed the letter as we believe it aligns well to our refreshed strategic focus areas: Hāpai te ōritetanga | Increased Equity; Whakauru mai | Social Inclusion; Whakahou taiao | Regenerative Environment; Hāpori awhina | Community Support.”

CaliWoods, a plastic-free and sustainable living business, started the initiative with the hope of seizing the opportunity for a more sustainable economic future in a post COVID-19 landscape.

By lending its support to this letter the Foundation hopes to encourage a holistic approach to the planning and funding of future developments. So far 330 organisations have co-signed the letter - a number which is growing. We would also encourage other philanthropic organisations in Aotearoa to add their signatures.
