Foundation North's Centre for Social Impact launches Impact Report

30 October 2015   /   News & reports

Supporting innovative responses to complex social issues with effective programmes and seeing the impactful outcomes are just some of the successes the Centre of Social Impact (CSI) is celebrating.

CSI, an initiative of Foundation North, is marking one year of operation by launching its first Social Impact Report.

The report showcases five high engagement case studies funded by Foundation North under their Catalysts for Change programme that are having targeted impact within their communities.

“Over the last year we have worked alongside inspiring people in organisations working to bring change in areas where there are no easy answers,” Head of CSI Dr Alison Taylor says.

“We are seeing early signs of social impact start to emerge, it’s exciting to see. We are privileged to be with these community organisations on their journeys of change.”

Dr Taylor says the aim has been to provide specialised support to help community organisations deliver on their vision, capture their learning, and position themselves to scale up and become sustainable.

Foundation North CEO Jennifer Gill says the combination of funding and operational support proved a winner.

“Support for innovative responses to complex social issues is an increasing focus of philanthropic trusts around the world, and Foundation North has been actively engaged in high-engagement grant-making since 2006,” Ms Gill says.

“For us having CSI work with the Foundation, with other funders who want to invest in engaged philanthropy, and community organisations that want to be able to get maximum social impact from their programmes is really exciting.”
