Experiencing Marine Reserves

Focus area: Regenerative Environment
Experiencing Marine Reserves

The aim of Experiencing Marine Reserves is to raise awareness, understanding and involvement in marine conservation through provision of dynamic experiential environmental education opportunities in New Zealand.

Since 2002, the programme has guided snorkel experiences in marine reserves around the country involving 39,304 students including teachers and whanau. They are based in eight regions in NZ and we have a sister programme in one state of Australia.
